I Think My Son Swallowed An Owl

For the past couple of weeks, Micah has been making this new "owl" sound. He even makes an "O" shape with his mouth as he makes the sound. I think this is just the beginning of him being able to say a few words. If not, I may have to learn to speak owl!

Sometimes when I am putting Callie to bed, she will ask me to make her a hat out of her towel. Tonight she wanted a hat and this is the little dance she made up while brushing her teeth.

Emily's New Training Wheels

This summer Emily has really wanted to learn how to ride her bicycle. Unfortunately, we have been extremely busy and it has been extremely hot! Can you say over 60 days of 100+ temperatures? Last weekend, our temperature dropped to the 80's and it has been wonderful! So, on Labor Day I put training wheels on Emily's bicycle and we headed over to the church parking lot so the girls could ride their bikes. Emily has done really well so far and Callie just wants to go fast!

We Love To Bowl!

Tonight our entire church went bowling for a some summer fun and fellowship. We had a great turnout and the girls had a blast. Emily was able to bowl by herself most of the night and Callie only needed a little help. I love it when the church gets out of the "four walls" and shows the world how to have a little fun!

I Love VBS!

Both girls had a great week at VBS. From our family night carnival to the music to our moon bounce during recreation, they are definitely worn out! Today we finished with some VBS musical chairs during recreation and I got a short video of both girls running around the chairs. Emily actually came in second and was as happy as could be! Hopefully they will sleep in tomorrow because they need some extra sleep.

VBS Day Two

We had another fun-filled day of VBS! Even though Callie had a burst of energy right at the end of the day (see video), she was tired and a little cranky most of the day. Despite that, both of the girls had a good time and even got to take their pictures with a Statue of Liberty cutout.

VBS Day One

Today we had our first day of VBS. Callie told us at bedtime that she loved doing all of the "really cool things" and can't wait for tomorrow. I love seeing the girls get caught up in the various themes, music, games, and Bible stories each day. Who knows what tomorrow holds!
